Since my blogging hands are effectively tied until I get my camera back next weekend, I thought I would share the 5 best, smartest, most interesting and/or funniest articles I have read recently.
1. "Meatless Like Me: I May be Vegetarian, but I Still Love the Smell of Bacon" - the best description of being a normal vegetarian, written for omnivores, about herbivores. And funny, to boot. Please read it...you will understand me (and 97% of vegetarians) that much better.
2. "Who Will Tell the People?" Sent to me by my friend, Sarah. It's a commentary on the state of modern America. It's thoughtful, and thought provoking. And was the final push I needed to really consider working in an inner-city school.
3. "Barack Obama: Calm in the Swirl of History" If you have yet to figure it out, I am voting for Barack Obama. This is a great article, kind of biographical for those who might not want to go through the trouble of reading his books. Although it was what made me finally download his books to my iPod.
4. "Tila Tequila Resposible for Gay Rights" Because we know shows that appeal to the lowest common denominator of the American public often spur policy debates.
5. "Life, Unplugged: On the Virtues of Disconnecting" A look at how internet and technology-obsessed we are. Something I realized this week when I left my computer charger at a friend's house out of town and had to read (gasp!) instead of web surfing for FOUR DAYS. I think I might institute one "unplugged" night a week - no TV, no computer...
I get my camera back in a week! Expect a photo blitz!

hello! I look forward to your photo blitz.
We went to your pool the other day... although I think we actually ended up at the neighborhood pool across the street from your apartments. :) Its a funny story actually... we couldn't figure out why we couldn't get into the pool with the key Tara had... then finally someone inside the pool just let us in. We stayed there for 3 hours... all the while thinking it was your apt pool. Then we went to leave and spotted the other pool in your complex that is close to your apt. :) Funny stuff, right? Right.
